# Company Overview

LynxBridge, LLC is a technology solutions company located in Northern
Virginia and serves both federal and commercial clients in the greater
Washington DC metropolitan area. LynxBridge was founded on the principle
that success, as any other aspect of engineering, can be deliberately
incorporated into a project.

## Our Scope

LynxBridge is a woman owned small business with considerable experience
in systems engineering, software engineering, and enterprise
architecture and data management. We are the trusted architect on
numerous successful programs including real-time warfighter
intelligence, civilian defense, and data management and governance for
the Department of Homeland Security.

## Our Focus

Fundamentally, LynxBridge focuses on solutions that work and can be
implemented using best-of-breed technology and workable and reliable
processes and interoperable standards. Our consultants are chosen base
not only on focused skills, but on their ability to get involved with
the customer, understand their issues, and look at the larger picture.
Our recruiting pipeline, processes, and organization ensure that our
staff consists of the skilled individuals with both the broad and the
point-solution skills required by our clients.

## About the Name

The name *LynxBridge* is derived from two sources:

**The mythical lynx.**
The first part of the name references the mythical ethos of the [lynx][Lynx] a
medium-sized wild cat. The lynx is [often called][Lynx Mythology] *the keeper
of secrets of the forest*. The lynx is not a guardian of secrets so much as the
one who knows them. The parallel to be drawn is that a passion for technical
excellence and substantial involvement in projects large and small provides
insights that can be elusive and difficult to quantify.

**A bridge over the tar pit.**
The second part of the name stems from the book [The Mythical Man-Month][MMM],
Essays on Software Engineering by [Frederick P. Brooks, Jr.][Brooks]
Although the technologies in the book are from the past, the problems it
illuminates are not. Specifically, the first chapter titled The Tar Pit draws
the analogy of development teams, despite their strength, being dragged into
the tar pit of schedule and performance failure by many of the same woes
besetting the projects and programmers of today. This concept is extended to
consulting -- a bridge that safely spans the tar pit and connects clients to
people, processes, and technology.

## Company History

LynxBridge, LLC is a woman-owned small business that was founded in 2008 and is
located in Northern Virginia. LynxBridge is a technology solutions company. By
employing consultants who are in the top tier of their fields, the company is
able to provide clients with quality solutions that reflect a high level of
expertise and years of experience.

In 2008, LynxBridge began with three business partners: Frank Hellwig, Traci
Hellwig, and Jim Hoover. Their roles within the company continue to be Chief
Executive Officer, President, and Director of Operations, respectively. 

In 2009, LynxBridge began building its staff of highly qualified consultants
providing solutions to commercial and government organizations. Since then
LynxBridge has consistently obtained and retained quality consultants by
offering high value projects and avenues for career growth.

Currently, in 2010, LynxBridge provides consulting services to leading
commercial and government organizations such as the Northrop Grumman
Corporation, Infotech, Presidio, and TASC.  The company is continuing its
growth by attracting new employees and providing them with meaningful projects,
specializing in systems engineering, software engineering, enterprise
architecture, and data management.

The quality of our work, our focus on customer satisfaction, and our dedication
to integrity are the core values upon which LynxBridge was built. LynxBridge
cares about its employees, our consultants, allowing us to deliver the quality
